This week on The Pour Choices Show, we somehow go from prairie dogs and boa constrictors to Winter Olympic politics, protein marketing conspiracies, and the psychological warfare that is modern grocery store layouts.
Chris kicks things off after seeing a guy with pet prairie dogs, which somehow reminds David of a stand-up bit involving a boa constrictor worn like Britney Spears at the VMAs. From there, we pivot into the U.S.A. hockey team taking gold over Canada, Olympic trivia, banned countries, and the ongoing chaos that is international competition.
Then it gets weird in the best way.
We debate what color each day of the week is, question why Snoop Dogg is selling gold coins with his own face on them, and break down whether you shop for groceries by a list or by surrendering to the store’s manipulative layout strategy. Chris also rants about protein being slapped onto every product like it’s a personality trait. Chris rediscovers a list of completely random words in his notes and has no idea what they were for. Naturally, this leads into a game of “Guess the Movie from the Wrong Characters”, where plots get explained using actors’ roles from entirely different films.
Then we dive into the Netflix documentary Secret Mall Apartment, which sets up the ultimate hypothetical:
You get $10,000,000 if you can live secretly inside a mall for 4 years without being caught. How are you pulling it off?
From there, it’s pure nostalgia chaos with The Mall Draft, picking the best stores from late 90s/early 2000s mall culture, plus AskReddit prompts about random movie quotes and unethical life hacks.
It’s Olympic trivia, mall psychology, dad jokes, secret living strategies, and two grown men deeply analyzing retail layouts like it’s national security.
